BJD MIYACORE - COSTUME DESIGN x Ball Jointed Doll Aesthetic

This project is an iteration of my old Design Miyacore! contest entry for the Juicy Newtro theme.
A classy yet fun spring/ summer outfit. The silhouette of her dress is inpired by 1950s summer dresses you can see in vintage magazines. My further inspiration from the 50s: seamed stockings, stripe and checkered motifs, 50s color swatches of RAPHAEL and HUBERT DE GINVENCHY, red lip makeup with toned down blush, fancy pancake shaped hat and lace gloves.

I used the Miyacore avatar basemesh and simulated the garments, groomed the hair and created the textures. I decided to try out a lot of experimental techniques and customised the whole outfit to my personal taste. Since I love BJDs (= Ball Jointed Dolls), I especially tried to recreate the BJD look by following the face up and eye anatomy similar to how BJD artists do it in real life. It was fun to research and learn! ^^
This project was created mainly with Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter and Blender, rendered with EEVEE!
